1962 Jaguar E-Type 3.8 Fixed Head Coupe Right Hand Drive Finished in Old English White with red hide interior and carpets this matching numbers example chassis no.885461 engine no.R3556-9 was despatched to Jaguar Cars in New York U.S.A. in January 1962 This is the ultimate specification very early E-Type with flat floors, welded bonnet louvres and aluminium centre console and was the subject of a total ground up nut and bolt restoration of the body and mechanics to concours standard by a U.K. Jaguar Specialist in 2006 when it was converted to right hand drive and received an all synchromesh gearbox upgrade giving a marked improvement to the driving experience and greater flexibilty in modern traffic conditions plus the addition of an extra cooling fan and full Waxoyl anti corrosion treatment aside from which it is to original standard factory specification. Since restoration the car has covered less than 500 miles being garaged in a small private collection. The condition is concours and looks like it was rebuilt yesterday , the underside is as good as the top and it drives superbly. The history file include detailed invoices for the restoration with a photographic file of the work plus a Jaguar heritage certificate and owners handbook and tools.
