1960 Facel Vega HK 500 Automatic Coupe LHD Chassis no. HK1-BN6 Manufactured March 1960 and sold by Becker in Germany prior to export to the U.S.A. then repatriated to the U.K. in 1988 where it remained in a private collection before being acquired and restored over the last 5 years by ourselves to concours condition.

Finished in Georgian Silver with a St. James red hide interior with matching Wilton carpets this left hand drive automatic example is fitted with Rudge wheels a limited slip differential and all round disc brakes. The original dashboard has been finely veneered in Burr Walnut by Rolls Specialists and the original H.M.V. Radio has been converted to AM/FM stereo.  During the 5 year detailed restoration the car was taken back to a rolling shell before being repainted , retrimmed, replacement of all rubber body seals and the refurbishment of all the brightwork and lights etc. The underside of the car has been refurbished and repainted with a total overhaul of the suspension steering, brakes and exhaust including upgraded servo new dampers. overhauled calipers , discs etc. refurbished original Rudge wheels with new centre and outer trims and new Pirelli Cinturato HS tyres.The mechanics including engine gearbox and diff. have been fully checked and serviced including overhauled original electric windows ,carb., starter motor , dynamo, radiator and upgrades to the wiring .

The interior has been restored to show standard including the headlining with square pattern cloth retrimmed seats carpets etc. plus the dashboard and all instruments including the original push button gearchange were removed and checked and refurbed before the dash was upgraded with the exquisite walnut veneer which is a massive improvement on the painted original as is the AM/FM radio with original twin speakers. Currently U.K. registered and tax paid in the E.U. complete with all small tools , jacking equipment handbook and workshop manual, invoice file for the refurb.including invoices from Amicale Facel Holland and other specialists. Possibly the finest example currently available worldwide of these very rare 2+2 lavishly equipped Grand Tourers capable of 140MPH and 0-60 in under 8.5 seconds which were owned when new by Royalty, diplomats, film stars , racing drivers and a Beatle including The Shah of Iran, Prince Charles of Belgium, The President of Mexico, The U.S. Ambassador to Brussels, Ava Gardener, Tony Curtis ,Danny Kaye, racing drivers Rob Walker, Maurice Trintignant and Stirling Moss and the Beatle Ringo Starr to name but a few and without doubt an appreciating asset.
