1962 Fiat 1600S O.S.C.A. Fissore Coupe LHD .Finished in Argento Silver with Burgundy leather interior this model was introduced at the Torino Motorshow in autumn 1962 where it won praise for its elegance , high quality manufacture out of steel and alloy and beautiful split rear window design along with both high performance excellent braking with Girling 3 pot brakes all round and a Ferrari like interior with Nardi steering wheel, passenger footrest and Jaeger instruments. Out of around 25 cars built of all variants of this model by Fissore only a handful of this first series with single headlights and the look of a Ferrari Lusso were built.
The car features on the cover of Paolo Fissore’s well known book Carrozzeria Fissore and is recognized next to the exotic and special OttuVu 2 litre cars as one of Fiat,s most important and sought after post war creations. Delivered to a Fiat dealer in Torino in December 1962 this ultra rare example was discovered by a well known collector of Italian thoroughbreds in a barn close to Torino in 1999 and then underwent a meticulous total ground up restoration by Carrozzeria Turrini Pozzolengo for the body and Sergio Allais in Giaveno near Torino for the engine before being moved to the Netherlands for final assembly. Complete with a large file including a detailed photographic record of the rebuild , letters re the provenance from Fiat and large invoice file this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the discerning collector to acquire a blue chip important piece of Italian sporting automotive history.
